If you have successfully found the correct type of fasting that corresponds to your body’s strength, you will not have any problem with long fasts. Long fasts require deep trust in the Lord.

It is written, “Before they call, I will answer; while they are still speaking, I will hear.” (Isaiah 65:24 NIV) As Daniel started fasting, God heard him and sent an answer, but the angel who came with the answer was stopped because some evil forces did not want that answer to be manifested in that area. If Daniel had stopped fasting earlier, he would never have seen the manifestation of that answer. But he continued the fast. It was his fast that sustained that spiritual battle. The answer finally arrived on the twenty-first day. (Daniel 10:12–13 NIV) Note that the twenty-one days of resistance (detained) corresponds to the three weeks of Daniel’s fasting.

So, if you fast and do not receive the answer, do not worry. Maybe you stopped before the right time. Fast again; perhaps this time, the answer will reach you. We’d say, “End the fast when God answers you,” but only a few people know when God has answered them.

Long fasting or regular fasting gives our spirit more glow in the spirit world.
